We describe an Electronic Programming Guide (EPG) that uses interactive panning and zooming, gestures, and spoken dialog to enable viewers to access relevant information in large hyperlinked databases. The guide is imbued with a "personality" that gives the impression to the viewer of interacting with an intelligent, opinionated agent.
